The Project

The craziest miniature hide-and-seek you'll ever see! Commissioned by Mikecrack, this project involved a building with miniature details and a data pack to shrink and grow at will. On the occasion of the release of their book 'Los Compacuentos 2. Los Compas y el frijolito mágico', we organized this fun hide-and-seek so Mike, Raptor, Timba, invictor and Acenix could have a great time rummaging among the most unimaginable places.

Mechanics

Despite entertaining more than 7 million people, this video was made to promote a book from Los Compacuentos, inspired by the famous tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. In the video, it was the frijolitos that helped Los Compas to shrink to use the smallest holes as a hiding spot. Moreover, with the mega frijolito, Mike could turn into a giant and with a few jumps he could destroy the whole house to find his friends easier during the last round.

Build

The proposal of a miniature hide-and-seek involved the creation of a house specifically designed for this mechanic. It was important that the build looked good while being both big and small in size. Additionally, it was necessary that the miniature structures could interact correctly with the players, allowing them to hide behind them. For this reason, we made sure to create a map full of details and hiding spots where Los Compas could get into: furniture, plants, appliances and decorations, many of them made voxel by voxel to ensure the gameplay was smooth.

Moreover, different rooms were designed so the game could unroll in different scenarios. This way, we provided a high variety of content for each round, which is essential for the video format.
