The Project

Fifty participants tested their knowledge about Minecraft in this event. Individually or in duos, players had to move along a map inspired by the island from the classic videogame Wii Party while they answered questions from six different categories: history; blocks, items and enchantments; technical Minecraft; biomes and structures; culture and mobs. A total of 600 unique questions made many content creators realize that they didn't know as much about the game as they thought.

Finally, after an intense game, the team formed by LuisiLLAG and TheBlazer97 won the event.

Pioneers in the use of AI

To avoid limiting the questions to be multiple-choice, we decided to innovate and develop a correction method for open-answer questions using artificial intelligence. This allowed us to create much more complex and unique questions, which participants could answer by writing without worrying about spelling or wording accuracy. In a trivia event, the quality of the questions is the main feature, and with artificial intelligence we could take the experience of the event to the next level.

Mechanics

Isla Trivial not only consisted of answering questions. It was a race to the end of the island. Answering correctly gave the players advantages such as dices with higher numbering or special cards. In case of failing a question, they had to complete a task before continuing. It was also mandatory for the players to collect the six category wedges before entering the last space, where they must answer six consecutive questions, one for each category, before winning the event.

Audiovisual

Isla Trivial had a very unique look. Every block and item had a new texture, in addition to an inventory interface designed exclusively for the event. The 3D models and its custom selection of videogame music.

Moreover, the island where the game took place was built based on the game Wii Party and adapting it to the specific needs of the event, ensuring a polished game experience even in the smallest details.
